Upkeep Training has been teaching people about buildings and how to look after them since 1979. We promote good practice in the care, refurbishment, and improvement of buildings, believing good maintenance of the UK’s existing building stock is fundamental to environmental sustainability.

We run qualifications and short courses about buildings and building services for people working in housing, property management, and facilities management to learn more about how to inspect and look after buildings. Candidates can take the courses as separate one-day modules, or combine some of them and achieve nationally-recognised qualifications from the Awarding Body for the Built Environment (ABBE) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).

Our specially designed range of courses benefit learners of all ages and backgrounds, including people working in construction and housing in technical and non-technical roles. We were delivering courses via virtual classrooms before the Covid-19 pandemic required a shift in employers’ approach to work and learning and have been delighted to refine this further over the last couple of years. We have an impressive track record of offering courses via Zoom or MS Teams, with our expert trainers using the best of the virtual facilities available. This makes the best use of your staff time in not having to travel to a venue and gives you and their comfort in personal safety.

We are happy to discuss requests for in-person and in-house training if you feel you can offer safe facilities and it’s the best learning option for your staff.

Thousands of candidates have learned about buildings through our courses and we continue to work with industry groups and those currently working in the industry to ensure our courses provide you with the latest knowledge and techniques and skills so that you can excel at work.

If there’s a subject you’d like your staff to learn about that isn’t listed on our course calendar, give us a call. We’d be happy to prepare a bespoke course for your organisation which we can deliver in London or at a location/premises of your choice.
